Pioneer Country Travel Council Inc. has a grant administrator. Title: Audit
Description:
An independent Compliance Audit is required when a grant award meets or exceeds one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000). Funds awarded for the audit will be used for that purpose only and cannot be shifted into other elements. Any unspent funds remaining will revert back to the region's funding pool for the following year.

Description:
This element will include an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount awarded, up to $25,000. This ten percent (10%) is to be used for:

Title: Regional Advertising
Description:
Design and placement of print, radio and internet regional advertising in media outlets such as but not limited to Deseret News, Salt Lake Tribune, Ogden Standard Examiner, Idaho Statesman, Boise Weekly, Wasatch Wave, AAA Tourbook, Group Tour Magazine, Salt Lake City Visitors Guide, American Road Magazine, American Birding Magazine, Canadian Traveler Guide, Gulls N Herons Galveston Bay Nature Newsletter, The Go Travel Sites, Snowscoop Magazine and website, Sno West Magazine and website, State Co-Ops, Top 10 Scenic Drives, Online Virtual Tours, Element 242, Social-Media on Facebook and Twitter, Flickr, YouTube and others as they become available during the grant cycle and/or purchase leads from the states Hot Leads Program to increase heads in beds in the off season months. Match will come from advertising discounts and joint ads with other co-ops such as but not limited to Lava Hot Springs Foundation, Downata Hot Springs, Idaho Potato Museum, Shoshone Bannock Tribes, Lava Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce, Bear River Heritage Area, Indian Springs and Malad City. Ads will be designed to develop more recreation get-a-ways, family reunions, company retreats, special events especially in the colder off seasons. Promote travel and tourism in Southeast Idaho increasing overnight stays.

Element 4
Title: Consumer Travel Show
Description:
Per Idaho Travel Council grant rules, Pioneer Country Travel Council will attend travel shows such as, but not limited to, the RV travel show in SLC, Utah, Southern California, International Sportsmans Expo in SLC, Utah, Morris Murdock Travel Show in SLC, UT, and Boise Rec-Fest in Boise, ID. PCTC co-ops with a variety of entities such as but not limited to Idaho Fish & Game, Region 6 Travel Council, Lava Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce, Bear River Heritage Area, Pocatello CVB which allows us to double or triple our booth space allowing us to better promote not only Southeast Idaho but other regions in our state as well. The funds requested are to pay for registration/booth rental, furnishings rental, shipping of brochures for shows, display updates and/or replacement of display including graphic design for the display, travel, per diem, and lodging per ITC State Guidelines.

Title: Internet Website
Description:
This element is to fund the service needed to keep Pioneer Country Travel Council's website up and functioning properly, including, but not limited to, internet web page hosting service, web page maintenance service, web page development and services from Webmaster to purchase the keywords, create e-mail newsletters and maintain the web site,
Internet Social-media management including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr
and YouTube, Online Virtual Tours and Element 242. The PCTC intends to aggressively market the web site on the internet via mechanisms such as, but not limited to, keyword purchases on Yahoo and Google search engines and The Go-Travel Sites and Top 10 Scenic Drives. Training for the state website update and maintenance of own listings and pics and other opportunities that may arise during the grant cyle. This training will benefit Idaho Travel Council and Pioneer Country Travel Council. Interested parties would be given the opportunity to attend.

Element 6
Title: Regional Brochures & Brochure Distribution
Description:
This element would be used to fund the design and printing of brochures within the region and to update and reprint the Regional Visitors Guide to Southeast Idaho brochure & any other PCTC regional brochures. Pioneer Country Travel Council proposes to distribute our Regional Visitors Guide to Southeast Idaho brochures. The project will be to contract with a brochure distribution service to target visitors in places such as, but not limited to, the Wasatch Front in SLC, UT, Park City, Utah, Wyoming and Montana, Boise area in hotels, visitor centers, attractions, car rental agencies, and other related sites by placing this brochure in the visitor information racks at approximately over 250 sites. This will be for a twelve month period. Communities in our region that are in need of a new brochure or reprint could apply for grant monies in this element to fund no more than 50% of their project costs. PCTC may require brochures produced to include regional attractions, activities, and events. Co-Op funds will help produce, design and print these brochures from individual communities within the region. In the 2008 grant year, PCTC participated using grant monies of $950.00 to produce Malad City's community brochure printing a total of 10,000 brochures, $435.00 to produce Idaho Museum of Natural History Brochure printing 10,000 brochures. And reprinted 50,000 of our regional brochure "Visitors Guide to Southeast Idaho", 75,000 of our regional brochure "Ice Fishing and Open Water Fishing in Southeast Idaho". All related administrative and publication grant rules of ITC will be followed.

Element 7
Title: Bear River Heritage Area Co-Op
Description:
This element will be to co-op with the Bear River Heritage Area to update online advertising and/or reprint the Bear River Heritage guide and/or brochure. The online and printed driving guide will encourage people to travel off the interstate system to see scenic and historic sites in the region, lengthening their stay and spending time in our regional hotels/motels. The driving guide and area will be promoted through national print and web advertising such as, but not limited to, Sunset Magazine and American Road, RV Life, The Go Travel Sites and other advertising opportunities that may be available during the grant year.

Title: Idaho Scenic Byway Co-op
Description:
This element would allow PCTC to participate in such as, but not limited to, "Taking the Scenic Route - A guide to Idaho's scenic byways" brochure, byway programs for improvements along byways in Region 5. Taking the Scenic Route brochures are being printed for the 2010 season and being sent to outlets throughout Idaho and the western states. The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) and The Idaho Recreation and Tourism Initiative (IRTI) websites have had requests for this brochure from across the nation. The Idaho Transportation Department will be applying for federal scenic byway funds which will provide for 80% of the cost of the brochure.

Title: International Marketing
Description:
The funds requested are to target international consumers to visit Idaho through print and internet marketing from outlets. The funds requested may be used at International Marketing Shows such as, but not limited to, Rocky Mountain International (RMI) Round-Up, Go West Summit and other International Forums, including development and print material to be used by a PCTC member including registration and sponsorship. International Travel is expected to increase with the weakening dollar. International travelers typically stay longer and spend more than the average domestic traveler. Travel, per diem, and lodging per ITC State Guidelines.

Description:
